End of College Basketball
Another season of college basketball has come to an end. It started with Kansas as the number 1 team in the nation and ended with Duke holding the trophy. Was it on eof the best college basketball seasons around? No, but there was alot of excitment throughout the season. Kansas, Syracuse, and Kentucky were three teams that shared the top spot most of the season. Kentucky had 2 super freshman John Wall and Demarcus Cousins that took on everyone's challenges and prevailed in most of them. The NCAA tournament was an exciting one. Many upsets took place and a Cinderella was born in Butler. Butler came close to beating the Evin Empire in College Basketball, Duke. Butler came up just short though but stole many hearts. As we wait for the next season of College Basketball hopefully it will be naother exciting year.

Favortism for Duke?
Honestly did they?
At first I just ignored it and didn't believe but now that Duke is in the final four, I think maybe they did.
Kansas was the overall #1 seed and look at the teams in their region. UNI(Top 25 team),Mich St(always a final four threat),Maryland(ACC co-champion),Tennessee,Georgetown,and Ohio St. Thats one hell of a region there!
Syracuse had Gonzaga, Butler, Vandy, Xavier, Pitt, and Kansas St. Not as tough but still some good teams.
Kentucky had Texas(was a #1 team),Cornell, Wisconsin,Marq,Wash, New Mexico, and West Virgina
Duke had Cal(a bubble team that somehow got a 8 seed), Louisville( a bubble team without two wins over syracuse),Texas AM,Purdue(without hummel),Baylor and Nova.
Sorry but does it not look like Duke had the easiest region? I saw an article somewhere where they were talking about Duke draws viewers so them getting to the fina 4 is a good thing.

NBA
Orlando dominated the Kings 102-84. Magic had a 32 point lead. Tyreke Evans was held quite. Only 19 points and 2 assist. Kevin Martin only had 5 points as he shot 1-7. Kings now 0-5 since he returned. Dwight Howard had 19 and 15 and J.J. had 15 off the bench.
Atlanta beat Charlotte 103-89. Atlanta had 5 players in double-digits including 6th Man of the Year contender Jamal Crawford who dropped 24.
Boston beat Portland 98 to 95 in OT last night in Boston. Garnett's first game back after his injury resulted in 13 pts and 4 boards in 30 minutes. Ray Allen was 3-14. Andre Miller had 28 for the Jailblazers, and speculation is he may end up in Washington for Brendan Hawywood. Portland needs a center so I like this trade. Portland doesn't need Andre Miller scoring 28 every night.
NOR beat the T'wolves 96-94 on a last second layup by James Posey. Chris Paul had a solid game. The starting Center and PF for the T'wolves had a combined 2 points.
Kobe scored 27 but shot 8-24 as the Lakers beat the Knicks at the garden 115-105. Close game throughout but the Lakers pulled away at the end. Kobe needs to rest the hand. 6 players in double figures for the Lakers. 31 and 28 pts for David Lee and Wilson Chandler. Jordan Hill had a nice 11 pts and 7 rebs in only 11 mins. Maybe more playing time?
In a matchup of two young hot teams the O.K. Thunder lost to t the Grizzlies 86-84. Durant dropped 30 on 10-23 shooting and was the only offense. Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay each had 25.
The Bulls beat the Suns last night on the West Coast. Derrick Rose had 32 points and the Bulls playes with a short bench as payers were out due to the flu. Sick dunk by Rose

Bob Knight a Hypocrite?
Bob Knight is a great coach. There is no doubt about that. He has 902 career wins, tops all time. He has 3 National Championships from his time at Indiana including a undefeated season, which no team has ever matched. He even had a winning record at Army which isn't easy and even made Texas Tech relevant. Throughout his career, he had a lot of negative issues. Slapping players, throwing a chair across the court, and many more issues. He also hate dthe media, and often ridiculed, and made fun of them (videos below). He ended up retiring in 2008, in a controversial way. He had gotten to 900 wins which is quite an accomplishment, won 2 more games, then decided to retire. His son Pat Knight, said "He's just too tired and wore down." So he was never tired or wore down all the other years he coached? My opinion is he knew he had a team that was not going to be a NCAA tournament team. His son, Pat, was in line for the Texas Tech job and when Bob retired, Pat got it. I really think that was not fair, is Pat a division 1 coach? I feel nhe isn't especially for school in the Big 12. After he retired Bob ended up as a anylast for ESPN. This was not a suprise as ESPN was always a fan of Knight. Dick Vitale acted like they were BFF. Bob Knight as a analyst? The same guy who throughout his career would go off on the media? I don't like it or agree with it. Though Knight is a great coach, one of the best of all time, he is without a doubt a hypocrite.
Mets Trade for OF
The New York Mets who will be without Carlos Beltran for the first few months have traded for Gary Matthews Jr. Matthews struggled last year only hitting .250 with 4 HR'S in only 316 at-bats last year. The Mets are expected to give up a low level pitcher, and the Angels wil be paying most of the contract.

Coaches and Violence
Three Division 1 College Football coaches have been fired this year for misconduct to players. Mike Leach (Texas Tech), Mark Mangino (Kansas) and Jim Leavitt ( South Florida). It's safe to say this is not the old days where your coach could make you practice in 110 degree heat with no water breaks and kick you when you past out. Now the Mike Leach story is interesting. Adam James was not to popular with coaches or teammates and got some love from ESPN since his dad, Craig, is a college football announcer. He sucks by the way. Now hearing Mike Leach go off about the firing and subject on hand on a ESPN interview was classic. Did he make a mistake putting Adam James in a shed? Yes of course he did, but let's not forget to blame ESPN who never gave Leach a chance in this. Texas Tech football will really miss Leach since nobody knew about the program before he came. (Leach, please go to Illinois and coach). Now when I heard Mark Mangino was abusive I laughed. I figured he got mad cuz some kid ate the last hot dog or something. Now that I see, Mangino does have a temper! NSFW. His punishment was to be sat on by Mangino. UGH!. Kansas did do a good thing in hiring Turner Gill, who is balck, so Charles Barkely will be happy he was hired. Oh wait, he only wanted Auburn to hire him? Nice job on the race relations Chuck. Now Jim Levaitt, I am not to sure what happend. All I know is he choked and hit a kid. So hes out and South Florida now has Skip Holtz as coach. Which I'm sure his dad, Looney Lou, is happy about. The one program in these three that will take a step back si Texas Tech. Losing Leach and his awesome offense to Tommy Tubberville will probably bring Texas Tech back to mediocrity. So coaches beware! The NCAA is after you. You may want to choke your players, but DON'T! Just get pissed(NSFW) and have your face turn red like your head is going to explode.
Welcome to my blog.
I will talk about mostly sports and some other stuff(Music, movies, tv, politics) when I feel like it. I'll write serious issues but with humor in it. Everything is really funny if you look at it in a certain way. Well not every thing but you get the point.
